The Chapter's collection of genealogical material is housed in the McGahan Historical and Genealogical Room at the New Lexington Public Library at 117 South Jackson Street, New Lexington, Ohio 43764. All written inquires need to be sent to our genealogy society at the address listed above. (The library staff does not do research). Phone calls will be accepted on a limited basis for brief inquiries only. Many of the officers of the Perry County Chapter have full-time jobs; therefore, their available time to donate to researching is limited. Our officers and many members live in different communities and some reside outside of the county and state. We have volunteers who will research selected Perry County publications contained within our collection (marriage indexes, early death index, county histories, ancestor and surname files, etc.) for ONE surname (specific family) per each $10.00 donation to our Chapter's library purchasing fund. We offer no guarantees that any record of your family can be located and these volunteers will not research outside of the collection. If a more in-depth or extended research is needed, we suggest you contact the private genealogical researchers below who specialize in Perry County, Ohio records: |
