Thomas, Thomas

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Mollencamp, Mrs. Thomas Black, and Mrs. Philip McLaughlin attended the funeral of their uncle, Mr. Thomas Thomas of Byesville, Sunday.

Thompson, Jane

Mrs. Rosetta Gaver was called to Lancaster last Saturday on account of the death of her aunt, Mrs. Jane Thompson.

Treadwell, James

James Treadwell, son of John and Mary (Duckworth) Treadwell, was born at Syracuse, Ohio on January 16, 1863 and died at Shawnee, Ohio June 7, 1934 being at the time of his death age 71 years, 4 months and 21 days. He came to Shawnee in the early eighties and continued to live here the remainder of his life. On June 25, 1899, he was united in marriage to Miss Elizabeth Barrett and to this union one son and five daughters were born.  He is survived by his widow and six children: Mrs. C. R. White of Huntington W. Va., James Richards Treadwell of Cambridge, Ohio, Miss Claire Elizabeth of Columbus, Misses Mary Isabel, Marjorie Ellen and Agatha Rose of the home; three grandchildren, one brother John Treadwell of Crooksville, three sisters Mrs. Henry Gibbon of Columbus, Mrs. W. W. Jones and Miss Hannah Treadwell of Long Beach, Calif. Early in youth he united with the Presbyterian Church and in that faith he lived and died. For more the 50 years he was an honored and esteemed member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, having joined the order at Syracuse, Ohio and was a charter member of Saltlick Aeria of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and in both orders he did well his part. Mr. Treadwell was well and popularly known throughout Perry County.  He believed it to be his duty to take an active part in public affairs and by this activities came in contact with most all of the leading citizens of the county, many of whom sought his advice and council. He was a model husband, a kind and indulgent father, a splendid type of citizen, a good neighbor and a loyal friend.  In a word, Jim Treadwell was a real man among men.  His generous heart and genial disposition won for him respect and the high esteem of all with whom he came into contact.  Friends he had many, enemies, few, if any. By his passing his family, his host of friends, his lodges and the community have sustained an irreparable lost.  He has gone the way appointed for all mankind.  For his good deeds his memory will long be cherished by those who knew him. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. J. A. Weed, were held at the family home Sunday afternoon and interment made in New Lexington. Among the out of town relatives and friends who attended the funeral were: Mrs. Henry Gibbon, Mr. and Mrs. William Gibbon and son Billie, Mr. Wallace Donnelly, Miss Mildred Carroll, Mr. Andrew Duckworth, Mr. and Mrs. Slick, Mr. and Mrs. Frank White, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Stevens and son Mark, Mrs. Fred Link and daughter Vera, Mr. A. Rieck of Columbus, Mr. and Mrs. James Treadwell of Cambridge, Mr. and Mrs. Loren Chandler of Beverly, Miss Emma Duckworth, Mrs. James Duckworth, Mr. Carl Duckworth, Mr. Albert Duckworth, of Syracuse, Mrs. Isabelle Hennessy of Corning, Mr. John Treadwell and Daughter Mrs. Violet Drinkwater, Mr. James Duckworth of Crooksville, Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Crowe, Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Metzger, Mr. and Mrs. William Deaver, Mrs. Jennie Jones of New Straitsville, Mrs. C. A. Bartel and daughters of Huntington, W. Va.
